Virginia Oyster Company is a husband and wife owned business. They strive to provide a boat to table, fresh quality seafood. In an industry that is “dying” as people say, they hope to be the face of the future in the seafood industry. The young couple processes oysters that come off of their boats and they offer shucked oyster and oysters in the shell. The company wants to add steaming and picking crabs to their business model. There are only four other local business that pick crabs for tidewater Virginia, but there is a large demand for crabs and crabmeat. Virginia Oyster Company’s already existing customer base has shown great interest in buying local crab meat.
